Job summary

Auburn Marriott Opelika Resort & Spa at Grand National is hiring a Catering Houseperson to ensure flawless event setup and maintenance of banquet spaces. You will read Banquet Event Orders, arrange rooms, and assist guests during functions, while keeping areas clean and safe.

You will also be responsible for breaking down events, storing equipment properly, reporting any damages, and ensuring all electrical hookups and cords are secured for a smooth, successful hospitality experience.

Qualifications

• Experience reading Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and translating them into room setups.
• Ability to set up and break down function rooms according to event specs.
• Knowledge of safety practices when handling banquet equipment and cords.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand BEOs to set up function rooms as specified.
• Know location of all function rooms and typical event setups.
• Set up and break down all department functions efficiently with required equipment.
• Handle banquet equipment with care and ensure proper storage and maintenance.
• Assist guests when possible and refer requests beyond duties to supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in function room and storage areas.
• Perform periodic deep cleaning of the function room area.
• Be physically capable of lifting up to 100 pounds as needed.
