Job summary

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking a Banquet Set-Up Lead to orchestrate event spaces, lead the setup team, and ensure tables, chairs, and equipment are arranged to exact specifications and on time.

In this role you will work with Banquet Captains to translate floor plans into reality, oversee stewarding operations during events, and support daily meal service with cleanliness, organization, and professional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and returns plates, glassware, buffet items, and service equipment to the storeroom to maintain order and readiness.
• Performs daily cleaning of banquet tables and chairs to uphold standards of presentation and hygiene.

Take the Lead Behind the Scenes at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science!

Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, stays organized, and knows how to stay one step ahead? We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable Banquet Set‑Up Lead who takes pride in transforming event spaces and ensuring every setup is executed with precision!

In this role, you'll work side by side with Banquet Captains to bring event floor plans to life, ensuring tables, chairs, furniture, and equipment are arranged accurately and ready on time. You'll coordinate setups across multiple event spaces throughout the museum, maintain strong knowledge of banquet inventory and equipment, and ensure every detail meets our event standards.

You'll also provide hands‑on leadership to the banquet setup and stewarding teams, overseeing stewarding operations during events while ensuring proper equipment handling, cleanliness, organization, and efficient back‑of‑house operations. You'll work closely with Banquet Captains to keep events running smoothly and ensure all team members are supported throughout each function.

Job Class: Full-Time

Hiring Range: $22.00 - $23.50/hour

Working Conditions

• Physical Environment: This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to navigate large event spaces, storerooms, and kitchen areas throughout the shift.
• Work Schedule: Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on event demands and daily food service needs.
• Pace and Environment: Fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent changes in priorities and physical demands. You must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Team Interaction: High level of collaboration with banquet, stewarding, and culinary teams. Must maintain professionalism and clear communication under pressure.
• Noise and Temperature: Exposure to loud noise levels during events and hot, humid conditions in dish room and kitchen areas.
