Job summary

The Lowline Hotel in Charleston, SC is seeking a Banquet Server to support event setup and service for assigned functions. You will work with the catering and kitchen teams to ensure smooth, timely service and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include reading the Banquet Event Order, serving in a friendly manner, maintaining appearance and etiquette, and adhering to safety and alcohol awareness standards. Prior hotel or restaurant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
• Must convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must listen to and clarify concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
• Must understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions.
• Must maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance per Avion Hospitality standards and hotel needs.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
• Comply with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations for safe, efficient operations.
• Comply with certification requirements for the position (Alcohol Awareness, Food handlers, Safety, etc.).
• Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure prompt service.
• Read Banquet Event Orders and be familiar with assigned menu.
• Serve guests per hotel standards in a courteous, professional manner.
• Address guest problems and refer to management as needed.
• Know current hotel policies and safety rules.
• Keep banquet store room neat and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Clear banquet space after functions and restock as needed.
• Be attentive, helpful, and courteous to guests and staff.
• Understand organization of the hotel and department functions.
• Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Attend meetings as required by management.
