Hilton Orrington Evanston in Evanston, IL, is seeking a detail‑oriented Banquet Server for on‑call shifts to support event dining. You will assist with setup, guest interaction, and timely service in a fast-paced hotel environment.

The role involves greeting guests, serving food and beverages, and ensuring spaces are reset to supervisor specifications between functions, while adhering to alcohol service rules and guest needs.

Competenze

• You have a key eye for detail and recognize the importance of impeccably supplied banquet setups.
• At least 1 year of experience as a banquet server.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Food handlers and TIPS (or equivalent) are a plus.

Mansioni

• Set up banquet rooms as instructed, including linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and/or beverages in the order and to supervisor expectations; promptly remove dishes as guests finish each course.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room according to supervisor specifications after each function.

We are looking for our next great team members to join us on our Banquet team. This is a unionized position.

On Call basis available only.

Here is what you will be doing each day:

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Supervisors' specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.

You have a key eye for detail and respect the importance that impeccably supplies have in a hotel. The pride you have in your organizational and time management skills will be a great benefit in this role. You have at least 1 year of experience as a banquet server and have the ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment. Food handlers and TIPS (or equivalent) a plus.
