Job summary

Delta by Marriott, Downtown Muskegon is seeking a friendly Banquet Server & Set Up to assist with the coordination and service delivery of food and beverages for events, ensuring guests have a memorable experience.

You will set up banquet areas per BEO, greet guests professionally, prepare tables, serve beverages, replenish buffet items, and help keep banquet spaces clean and orderly throughout and after events.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret a detailed banquet event order (BEO).
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
• Knowledge of equipment and setup styles for meeting rooms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables with linens, silverware and glassware.
• Greet guests professionally and explain menu items.
• Prepare and serve non-alcoholic drinks; replenish buffet items.

• Maintain cleanliness of banquet and storage areas.

Summary

A Banquet Server & Set Up employee, you will assist with the coordination and service delivery of food and beverages to provide a memorable experience to our guests.

Specific Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of quality, service and cleanliness of banquet rooms, public areas and storage areas.
• Set up banquet areas, tables and serving stations according to the BEO and Standards.
• Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set up of linens, silverware and glassware.
• Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage menus.
• Prepare and serve non-alcoholic drinks
• Serve meals/courses from kitchen and/or replenish buffet items
• Attend to guest needs throughout event and communicate any special needs
• Clear, clean and reset tables and banquet room at conclusion of each event
• Clean, restock and polish silverware, glasses, flatware, work area and other equipment
• Replenish supplies and vacuum
• Empty wastebaskets and remove trash and table linen
• Keep banquet and storage areas in clean and orderly condition
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read and interpret a detailed banquet event order (BEO) including diagrams with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables, chairs and AV equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in meeting rooms, for example: round, boardroom, reception, U-Shaped, classroom etc.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without accommodations.
