Job summary

The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking energetic Banquet Servers for a seasonal part-time role through January 9, with potential to transition into regular part-time with employee benefits.

As a Banquet Server, you will set up banquet spaces, assist with service, and deliver exceptional guest experiences at a world-class property in Roanoke, VA.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of food service experience, preferably in banquet operations.
• Experience in luxury, upscale hospitality environment (four- or five-star) preferred.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails.
• Prior bartending experience is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays and banquet equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet and event spaces, including linens, silverware, glassware, napkins, centerpieces, and beverage stations.
• Assist with food and beverage service during events.
• Transport food and beverages from service areas to event locations.
• Monitor assigned tables and provide attentive, professional guest service.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, dietary needs, and special accommodations.
• Clear tables and remove used dishes, glassware, and service items during and after events.
• Break down event spaces and restore rooms to proper standards.
• Prepare and maintain coffee stations, break services, and beverage setups.
• Ensure food and beverage items meet quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas, back hallways, and workstations.
• Provide guests with general property information and a warm, welcoming experience.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers and other departments to ensure successful events.
• Maintain awareness of safety concerns and report hazards immediately.

Schedule

• Primarily PM shifts
• Typical start times begin at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with schedules varying based on
• Shift end times generally around 10:00 PM- 12:00 AM, but may vary based on event requirements.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Open availability is a plus

What You'll Do

• Break down event spaces, including bussing tables, removing linens, vacuuming, and restoring rooms to proper standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas, back hallways, and workstations.
• Provide guests with general property information and a warm, welcoming experience.
