Job summary

Oak View Group in Sevierville is seeking a Part-time Banquet Server to provide exceptional guest service during events at the Sevierville Convention Center. You will greet guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, and help maintain a clean, organized banquet area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), at least one year of events or restaurant experience, and the ability to lift heavy objects and work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often; able to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.

Position Summary

The duties and responsibilities of a Banquet Server are generally to provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire event process to ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction. The Banquet Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests at venues or catering events. Their duties include greeting guests and taking their orders, bringing them the correct drinks and dishes, and refilling their beverages as needed.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $17.00 to $18.00.

About The Venue

Sevierville Convention Center offers a facility design accommodating specialized needs of competitive arts, trade and retail shows, meetings, conventions, retreats, seminars, banquets, receptions, and/or holiday parties. The ballroom area can accommodate up to 1500 people with a beautiful design; smaller meetings are available. The venue includes two exhibit halls totaling 107,562 square feet of function space, and small meeting rooms. Located on Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville, Tennessee, the center stands on a hilltop with views of the Smoky Mountains and near Sevierville Golf Club. The community provides retail, dining, entertainment, lodging, and is a classic Smoky Mountain destination.

• Knowledge and/or experience as a Banquet Server, or Banquet Waiter.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often. Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Must be punctual with consistent attendance.
• Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers.
