Highgate Hotels is seeking a Server to efficiently set up and serve food and beverages for guests at all hotel functions. You will read Event Orders, understand function menus, and deliver attentive, courteous service to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel or a related field preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
• Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet and restaurant spaces per EO and hotel standards.
• Serve guests promptly and courteously according to the function menu and EO.
• Read and follow Event Orders (EO) and menus for assigned functions.
• Respond to guest issues and notify management as needed.
• Maintain tables and banquet spaces neatly, with proper stock and supplies.
• Clean up banquet spaces after events and re-stock as required.
• Follow money handling procedures while serving guests.
• Provide accurate descriptions of menu items and upsell where appropriate.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and assist with other duties as requested by management.
