Job summary

The Sanderling Resort in Duck, North Carolina, is seeking a Banquet Server to join our events team. You will staff weddings, corporate gatherings, and social occasions across Sunset Ballroom, Great Hall, and outdoor spaces, delivering polished service and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include setting up spaces, serving plated and buffet meals, maintaining cleanliness, coordinating with the Banquet Captain and culinary team, and assisting with bar service when needed.

Qualifications

• Prior banquet or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Follow directions and execute detailed service standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, courteous, attentive service to guests during events.
• Set up banquet spaces per BEOs with tables, chairs, linens, and stations.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of event spaces during service.
• Serve food and beverages according to banquet standards (plated, buffet, passed).
• Coordinate timing with Banquet Captain and culinary team.
• Support bar service and ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Assist with breakdown and storage of equipment after events.
• Communicate effectively with team and guests; handle concerns professionally.
