Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking a dedicated Banquet Server to ensure guests at events and dining settings have a memorable experience. You will interact with guests warmly, deliver efficient service, and stay attentive to their needs while maintaining professionalism across events.

Responsibilities include reviewing BEOs, communicating with the Banquet Captain, setting up tables, presenting menus, and handling service with accuracy and courtesy.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Six months hotel or convention center banquet food/beverage services experience.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.
• Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
• Stand continuously for long periods of time.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and ensure guests have a great experience when dining and meeting at the property.
• Be responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Be attentive to guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
• Check server’s and house person’s BEOs to ensure information is accurate.
• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted.
• Know the menu for each function served and explain major ingredients and preparation methods.
• Communicate with Banquet Captain / Lead Server regarding any special needs.
• Set tables, glassware, flatware and silver ware per dining rules and specifications.
• Greet and serve guests following policies/procedures for food and beverage.
• Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests per policies.
• Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
• Use in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special equipment.
• Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up/breaking down buffet or other tables, stations, equipment.
• Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures for à la carte and beverage orders.
• Complete assigned side work.
