Job summary

The Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton, located in the Hemisfair District, is seeking a Banquet Server to deliver attentive, professional service during events from setup through breakdown while upholding the hotel’s high standards. The Monarch offers a boutique experience and a dedication to guest satisfaction.

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or equivalent; banquet or restaurant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms per event specifications and ensure readiness.
• Serve food and beverages professionally and on schedule.
• Provide attentive, friendly service to guests throughout events.
• Maintain cleanliness and assist with breakdown and reset of rooms.
• Coordinate with banquet leadership and culinary teams to execute events.
• Perform additional duties to support hotel operations.

Position Overview

The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering attentive, professional service during events and functions, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience that reflects the hotel's standards. This role supports all aspects of banquet service, from setup through breakdown, while maintaining a high level of hospitality and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

Event Setup & Preparation

• Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, linens, glassware, and service stations
• Ensure all event spaces are properly prepared and presentation-ready prior to guest arrival

Food & Beverage Service

• Serve food and beverages in a timely, professional, and courteous manner
• Follow established service standards and event timelines
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests

Guest Experience

• Provide attentive, friendly, and engaging service throughout each event
• Maintain a polished and professional presence at all times
• Support a positive and memorable experience for all guests

Cleanliness & Breakdown

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet and event spaces during service
• Assist with breakdown, cleanup, and resetting of rooms after events
• Ensure all equipment and service items are properly stored

Team Coordination

• Communicate effectively with banquet leadership, culinary teams, and fellow team members
• Work collaboratively to ensure smooth execution of all events

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned to support banquet and hotel operations
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the role

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous banquet or restaurant service experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Strong customer service and guest engagement skills
• Ability to carry trays and stand for extended periods
• Team-oriented with clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Professional appearance and demeanor in line with service standards
