Job Summary

Responsible for assisting with the set up and breakdown of the event space and serving food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to the hotel's high standards of quality.

Essential Job Functions

This description summarizes primary responsibilities and qualifications. The hotel operates 24/7, so shift times may vary.

  • Gather supplies and set up banquet room as per the Banquet Event Order and instructions from the Banquet Captain, including linen, service ware, and glassware.
  • Attend pre-event stand-up meetings to learn function details and expectations.
  • Greet guests and respond to requests courteously.
  • Serve food and beverages according to the Banquet Captain's standards to ensure consistency.
  • Bus dishes promptly after each course and at the end of the function.
  • Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
  • After the banquet, clear and reset rooms as per supervisor’s instructions.
  • Line up supplies for future functions as needed.
  • Perform side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness using standard hotel cleaning products.
  • Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, property damage to supervisors.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per the team member handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist fellow banquet staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of liquor regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards and guest relations.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Basic English proficiency for communication and understanding inquiries.
  • Ability to follow written instructions for product safety.
  • Recall menu items and operate beverage equipment.
Physical Demands
  • Transport up to 30 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing or moving goods up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and smiling.
