Job summary

American Golf Corporation seeks a friendly Banquet Server to greet guests, assist with service, and help ensure memorable event experiences at La Mirada Golf Course.

You will set up rooms, serve beverages and courses, and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays are required; legal age to serve alcohol may apply.

Previous banquet or food service experience is a plus, and a High School diploma is preferred.

• Follow laws for serving alcohol.
• Support team with resetting tables during peak service.

Job Purpose

The Banquet Server is responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests and members at special functions and events. A successful Banquet Server possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Managers in welcoming, serving, and providing a positive experience to members and guests during banquet functions
• Setup banquet room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, and linen
• Attend roll call meetings prior to banquet kick off to learn responsibilities and expectations
• Serve beverages and menu courses in appropriate order
• Remove plates, service ware, and glassware as guests and members finish their courses
• Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
• Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests and members to ensure they are satisfied
• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law
• Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
• High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred

Working Conditions

• Schedule varies based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Regular movement throughout the venue is required, including time spent at the host stand, bar, dining areas, and service stations.
• Extended periods of standing and walking are common during shifts.
• Duties may include reaching, bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 30-50 pounds (such as trays, racks, boxes, or bar supplies).
• May occasionally assist with resetting tables, moving furniture, or supporting team needs during peak service.
• Vision requirements may include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment may involve exposure to loud noise levels, cleaning products, hot or cold food and beverage items, and fast-paced conditions.
