Job summary

American Golf Corporation in the United States (New Mexico) seeks a Banquet Server to warmly welcome and serve guests at special events.

You will assist banquet managers, set up rooms, serve courses, replenish beverages, and ensure a positive dining experience while adhering to alcohol service laws and corporate policies. Previous hospitality experience is valued.

  • Assist Banquet Managers in welcoming and serving guests during banquet functions
  • Set up banquet room with glassware, service ware, and linen as instructed
  • Attend pre-banquet meetings to learn duties and expectations
  • Serve beverages and courses in the correct sequence
  • Clear plates and glassware as guests finish courses
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and policies
  • Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Purpose

The Banquet Server is responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests and members at special functions and events. A successful Banquet Server possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Banquet Managers in welcoming, serving, and providing a positive experience to members and guests during banquet functions
  • Setup banquet room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, and linen
  • Attend roll call meetings prior to banquet kick off to learn responsibilities and expectations
  • Serve beverages and menu courses in appropriate order
  • Remove plates, service ware, and glassware as guests and members finish their courses
  • Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests and members to ensure they are satisfied
  • Perform other related functions that may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law
  • Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Working Conditions
  • Schedule varies based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Regular movement throughout the venue is required, including time spent at the host stand, bar, dining areas, and service stations.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking are common during shifts.
  • Duties may include reaching, bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 30–50 pounds (such as trays, racks, boxes, or bar supplies).
  • May occasionally assist with resetting tables, moving furniture, or supporting team needs during peak service.
  • Vision requirements may include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to loud noise levels, cleaning products, hot or cold food and beverage items, and fast-paced conditions.
