Job summary

Silver Dollar City Resort is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead daily banquet operations for indoor and outdoor event spaces, overseeing a team of ~24 hosts and bartenders, managing the BEO workflow, and ensuring guest satisfaction, safety, and financial performance under the Director of Food & Beverage.

You will develop labor schedules, recruit and train staff, implement SOPs, control inventory and costs, coordinate with Sales and Culinary, and ensure compliance with ServSafe and responsible

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent on-the-job experience required.
• 3–5 years of high-volume banquet operations experience, with at least 2 years in management.
• Experience managing banquet service, conference event setups, and large indoor/outdoor events.
• Preopening experience in hotel, resort, or banquet operation preferred.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, labor scheduling, and cost controls.
• Proven ability to recruit, hire, train, and lead banquet teams.
• Experience developing banquet procedures, service standards, setup diagrams, and training materials.
• Knowledge of BEO workflows, event billing, service charge and gratuity administration, inventory controls, and equipment management.
• ServSafe Manager certification and responsible alcohol service certification required.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; able to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication with clients, guests, vendors, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Leads daily banquet operations and is accountable for service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Owns banquet P&L, manages revenue and operating expenses, and develops action plans to meet budgets.
• Leads a banquet team of ~24 hosts/servers/bartenders/captains.
• Develops labor schedules based on event forecasts and service requirements.
• Recruits, hires, and trains the opening banquet team.
• Develops SOPs, service standards, and training materials.
• Manages OS&E inventories and par levels.
• Oversees BEO workflow with Sales & Catering Manager and post-event billing reviews.
• Plans mock events to test readiness with the Banquet Sous Chef.
• Ensures staffing and assigns tasks; addresses performance and service issues.
