Job summary

The Umstead Hotel and Spa seeks an Assistant Banquet Manager to support the Banquet Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences in our upscale property. You will help lead the banquet team, coordinate events with culinary staff, and ensure flawless service and setup for contracted functions.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, payroll related tasks, and participating in pre-cons and meetings. Commitment to our standards and guest care is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as banquet captain or higher at upscale hotel.
• Hospitality degree preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of banquet standards and procedures.
• Ability to manage schedules within labor budget.
• Ability to oversee setup and service of events.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Manager and staff in creating and executing memorable guest experiences.
• Help with day-to-day operation of the banquet department per hotel standards.
• Attend required meetings/precons in the absence of the Banquet Manager.
• Assist with scheduling all colleagues to maintain service standards within budgeted labor costs.
• Support hiring, training, motivating, and supervising banquet staff, ensuring adherence to Vision and Values.
• Oversee care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment and supervise housekeeping and back-of-house areas.
