Job summary

InterContinental Washington DC - The Wharf, a luxury hotel on The Wharf, seeks a Director of Banquets to oversee daily banquet operations and drive profitability while ensuring guest satisfaction. You will work closely with the food and beverage team to deliver flawless events and maintain high standards in health, safety, and compliance.

You will lead staff, plan staffing needs, recruit, and implement induction programs while upholding the hotel's standards and guest experience as a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience leading banquet operations in a luxury hotel or equivalent.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
• Strong guest-service orientation and hospitality leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Food & Beverage/Culinary teams to execute banquet events.
• Plan staffing levels and recruit in line with hotel guidelines.
• Develop induction programs for new staff and monitor performance.
• Maintain and enforce department standards, procedures, and guest-focused service.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback; oversee staff training and development.
