Job summary

Raincross Hospitality Management Corporation | Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, CA is seeking a hands-on Banquet Manager to lead setup, service and breakdown for events. You will report to the Director of Banquets and guide staff on the floor, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standard.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressive banquet operations or related experience.
• Previous supervisory experience with ability to direct staff and manage performance.
• Strong knowledge of banquet operations, food and beverage service and bar service.
• Clear communication, strong organizational skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent and proficiency with Windows-based computer systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to meet applicable food handler and alcohol service certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct banquet staff, assign responsibilities and ensure work is completed correctly and on time.
• Keep employees focused and productive, addressing missed assignments and service concerns promptly.
• Train, coach and hold employees accountable for performance, teamwork and service standards.
• Oversee event setup, food and beverage service and breakdown.
• Review BEOs, attend planning meetings and lead pre-event staff meetings.
• Coordinate event details and timing with Convention Services, the Executive Chef and other departments.
• Assist with hiring, performance evaluations and corrective action.
• Review and approve employee timecards.
• Oversee bar service, beverage controls and banquet supply inventory.
• Resolve guest concerns and maintain food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards.

About the Role

We’re seeking a hand-on Banquet Manager who sets clear expectations, keeps the team on task and ensures events run smoothly.

Reporting to the Director of Banquets, you’ll lead employees through setup, service and breakdown. Success means being present on the floor, following through on assignments and holding employees accountable while maintaining a positive, respectful work environment.

Physical Requirements
