Job Description - Banquet Houseperson - Waldorf Astoria Chicago (HOT0BLII)

Waldorf Astoria Chicago is seeking a Banquet Houseperson to join our team in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Recognized globally as one of the best hotels, our luxury property features 215 rooms, over 5,000 sq ft of meeting space, and multiple dining outlets.

Shift: Various – must be available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: $25.90/hour, based on experience and location.

Union Position: This role is part of the Local 1 Union, requiring full availability and flexible scheduling based on seniority and business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of banquet, meeting, and conference areas.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as restroom sanitation, vacuuming, mopping, carpet shampooing, floor waxing, trash removal, and supply stocking.
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure equipment is operational.
  • Present a professional demeanor to guests and team members.
  • Assist back-of-house team as needed.
  • Lift and push banquet equipment.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of Food and Beverage functions.
  • Follow safety and security regulations.
  • Attend training sessions provided by the hotel.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of meeting room setup, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Understanding of table settings and service ware.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors and under pressure.
  • Awareness of hotel events and activities.
