Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Banquet Houseperson to join the team in Chicago's Gold Coast!

This luxury hotel features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and 4 food and beverage outlets including a restaurant, 2 bars, and in-room dining.

Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $25.90/hour, based on experience and location.

Union Position: This position is part of the Local 1 Union, requiring full availability. Schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated, and hours are based on seniority and business needs.

What will I be doing?

A Houseman supports Food and Beverage operations by maintaining cleanliness of all areas, supporting equipment maintenance, and assisting with setup and breakdown of banquet and conference spaces. Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining cleanliness of banquet, meeting, and conference areas
• Cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, cleaning/waxing floors, removing trash, stocking supplies, reporting maintenance issues
• Ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting defects
• Projecting professionalism to guests and team members
• Assisting back-of-house team as needed
• Lifting and pushing banquet equipment
• Assisting with event set-ups efficiently
• Managing setup for Food and Beverage functions in a timely manner
• Lifting/pulling/pushing at least 50 pounds
• Following hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety laws
• Attending hotel-provided training

• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
