Job summary

Bentwater Yacht and Country Club in Texas is seeking a Houseman to act as a liaison between front and back of house and to assist in all positions as needed.

This labor-intensive, fast-paced role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a willing attitude to support event setup, service, and cleanup throughout shifts.

You will help with event phases, buffet setup, food delivery, and ensure accurate plating and timing, while upholding guest service standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between front and back of house.
• Assist in all positions as needed.
• Set up and tear down event phases.
• Interpret buffet stations for service.
• Knowledge of menu specials, desserts, promotions, hours, events, and reservations.
• Ensure proper plating, temperature, condiments, and sides.
• Familiar with table numbers and seating.
• Deliver food from kitchen to tables.
• Ensure alcohol stays within restaurant; notify manager.
• Work with a high sense of urgency.
• Clear dishes and glassware after service.
• Assist servers in set up, cleanup, and reset of tables.
• Perform side work and cleaning as directed by the restaurant manager.
• Handle multiple restaurant duties as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned by F&B Managers.

The Houseman will act as a liaison between front and back of house, assist in all positions needed.

• Responsible for proper set up and tear down “phase” of events.
• Complete knowledge and interpretation of buffet stations for particular service.
• Have thorough knowledge of the restaurant; including menu specials, desserts and any promotions or activities, floor plan, hours of operation, special events and reservations
• Ensures integrity of the menu item such as plating, temperature, condiments and sides.
• Familiarity of table numbers and seat numbers.
• Executes delivery of food from kitchen to tables.
• Ensures alcoholic beverages do not enter or leave your restaurant by guests/ notify manager.
• Must work with a high sense of urgency.
• Clears dishes and glass ware when returning to kitchen. (pre-buss).
• Assist servers in set up, clean up and reset of tables during and after shift.
• Performs assigned side work and cleaning duties as assigned by restaurant manager.
• Ability to perform multiple functions in the restaurant on an as-needed basis.
• Additional duties as assigned by the F&B Managers.
