Job summary

IP Casino Resort Spa - Biloxi is seeking a banquet porter to ensure smooth event setups and breakdowns, stock banquet bars and carts, and deliver related supplies as needed. On-site role requiring physical stamina, ability to read English, stand/walk for long shifts, and lifting up to 75 pounds.

You will refresh meeting rooms, keep equipment tidy, and maintain a hazard‑free work area. Six months of banquet porter experience is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required; forklift

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of prior experience as banquet porter.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of various banquet set-ups (classroom, chevron, banquet, reception).
• Forklift certification is beneficial.
• Must be able to read English.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Set-up banquet equipment in accordance with the BEO; break down at event end.
• Deliver supplies such as liquor and beer from the banquet bar porter in a timely manner.
• Store and maintain all banquet equipment, bars, carts, etc.
• Refresh meeting rooms as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Complete set-ups and breakdowns of banquet equipment; store and maintain all bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions, and the like. Assist bartenders with stock, breakdown of beer, liquor, and other supplies. Deliver related supplies as needed.

Job Functions

• Set-up banquet equipment in accordance with the BEO; break down same at the conclusion of the event.
• Deliver supplies such as liquor and beer, from the banquet bar porter, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Store and maintain all banquet equipment, bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions, etc.
• Refresh meeting rooms as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard‑free work environment within area of responsibility.
• Other physical demands of this job include but are not limited to: sitting, bending, lifting, reaching, pulling/pushing, kneeling, squatting, and grasping.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months of prior experience as a banquet porter preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of various banquet set-ups (e.g. classroom style, chevron, banquet, reception, etc.) strongly preferred.
• Forklift certification is beneficial.
• Must be able to read English.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to grasp, kneel, stoop, and bend on a regular basis.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
