Job summary

Hotel Magdalena in Austin, TX is seeking a Food & Beverage / Events Banquet Captain to provide administrative and operational support for the F&B department and assist the Events team with leads, contracts, and execution. The role focuses on delivering a personable, indulgent guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

You will coordinate with sales, kitchen, and service staff, manage Run of Show details, and ensure smooth event production from setup to close, while

Qualifications

• TABC and ServeSafe required.
• High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Two years related hospitality events experience.
• Ability to prioritize and organize.
• Ability to work independently with good judgement.
• Ability to adapt to late nights/early mornings and extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee banquet function activities to meet client and hotel standards in terms of appearance, setup, service and food quality.
• Coach servers, bartenders, and bussers to train and maintain standards.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly.
• Review the Banquet Execution Order with sales team before each event.
• Coordinate timing with Chef and kitchen staff for all food/client requests.
• Complete closing reports and conduct event debriefs.
