Job summary

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel seeks a Banquet Captain to lead banquet operations for large events and meetings on campus. You will supervise staff, oversee setup, service, and breakdown, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating event logistics, managing equipment and supplies, handling cash transactions when required, and maintaining guest service excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of event setup equipment and safety practices.
• Ability to manage staff and coordinate large events.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up events including tables, chairs, staging and equipment.
• Support banquet staff during events and direct workflow.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards during service and teardown.
• Handle cash/credit transactions as required.
