Job summary

Fairmont El San Juan Hotel is seeking a Director of Banquets to coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of the hotel’s banquet operations while ensuring profitability and high service levels. This role drives ideas to promote business, reduces turnover, and maintains revenue and payroll budgets with consistent quality.

The candidate should have supervisory experience, a strong understanding of service standards, and knowledge of F&B techniques, health and liquor regulations.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service standards, and different service types (French, Russian, etc.).
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
• Food and Beverage experience in related field preferred.
• Hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of the hotel’s banquet operations to maintain profitability and high quality products and service levels.
• Share ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality high.
• Work with other departments to ensure exceptional events and guest satisfaction.
