Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah is seeking a Banquet Experienced Cook to support daily banquet culinary operations, preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food for meetings, events, weddings, conferences, and resort functions in a clean, efficient, and organized environment. Placement as Cook II or Cook I will be based on experience, demonstrated skill, and leadership capability.

Onsite, year-round, full-time shifts with pay rates of $18.00–$22.00 per hour; compensation decisions

Qualifications

• 1–5 years banquet or high-volume culinary leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of banquet service flow and large-scale production.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate high-quality banquet menu items according to recipes and resort standards.
• Assist in large-scale production for buffets, plated meals, receptions, and VIP hospitality functions.
• Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation across all banquet dishes.
• Follow BEOs and direction from Banquet Chef to execute prep and service efficiently.
• Organize mise en place for assigned stations and maintain readiness throughout service.
