Boka Restaurant Group and the Chicago Athletic Association are seeking Banquet Line Cooks to join their team.

The Banquet Line Cook position requires good communication and culinary skills. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of line or relevant cooking experience. Experience in banquets and catering is a plus. The banquet line cook must have a flexible schedule, as events occur in both the AM and PM. Responsibilities include prepping and assisting with events such as plate ups, buffets, receptions, and weddings.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation following chef’s specifications for events
  • Maintain cleanliness and food sanitation standards
  • Ensure safe food handling procedures
  • Report to Banquet chef and sous chefs
  • Read and understand BEOs for upcoming events
  • Follow and complete prep lists accurately
  • Assist with In Room Dining if needed
  • Maintain a flexible schedule aligned with event timings
  • Have knowledge of knife cuts, sauces, soups, proteins, and basic plating techniques
  • Follow timelines efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness, adhere to uniform and grooming policies

Physical Requirements
  • Lift/move up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Use tools, equipment, and chemicals safely and effectively
  • Stand and walk throughout the shift, including stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Exposure to hot and cold environments
