Job Details

Boka Restaurant Group and the Chicago Athletic Association are seeking Banquet Line Cooks to join their team!

The Banquet Line Cook position requires good communication and culinary skills. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of line or relevant cooking experience. Experience in banquets and catering is a plus. The banquet line cook must have a flexible schedule, as events occur in both the AM and PM, and should be comfortable prepping and assisting with events such as plate ups, buffets, receptions, and weddings.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation for events according to chef’s specifications
  • Maintain cleanliness and food sanitation standards
  • Follow safe food handling procedures
  • Report to Banquet chef and sous chefs
  • Read and understand BEOs for upcoming events
  • Follow prep lists accurately
  • Assist with In Room Dining if needed
  • Coordinate schedule with event timings
  • Know basic cooking and plating techniques, knife skills, sauces, soups, and proteins
  • Follow timelines efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to uniform policies
Qualifications
  • Hardworking with high-volume kitchen experience
  • Food handlers' certification
  • Flexible schedule
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Use tools, equipment, and chemicals safely
  • Stand and walk throughout shifts, including stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Work in hot and cold environments
