Job summary

The Inn at Virginia Tech is seeking a Convention Setup Crew member to prepare and breakdown banquet spaces for events. This role requires weekend, holiday, and Hokie game day shifts, with full-time and part-time positions available and a starting wage of $15/hour.

Responsibilities include setting up rooms per group requirements, maintaining knowledge of scheduled events, and ensuring cleanliness and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or vocational training.
• Previous experience in hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of various room setups and standard equipment.
• Adhere to timelines in completion of set-ups.
• Previous guest relations training.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and function areas with furniture and equipment as specified by group requirements and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of daily group schedules, room locations, and safety guidelines.
• Inspect set rooms for cleanliness and conformance to group requirements; rectify deficiencies.
• Inspect equipment and supplies for function areas and replace as needed.
• Refresh and breakdown rooms according to departmental procedures.
