Job summary

The Inn at Virginia Tech, operated by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a Banquet Server to support banquet events with weekend, holiday, and Hokie game day schedules. The position starts at $15 per hour and full-time roles offer benefits.

Responsibilities include reading the BEO, setting and clearing tables, learning menu items, and assisting with buffets and bartending duties as needed. Prior banquet experience and a TIPS or CARE certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous banquet server experience preferred. Must be able to follow directions and get along well with others.
• TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certification required or obtainable by first day on the job.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and completes setup accordingly.
• Sets tables with clean linen, silverware, china, and glassware.
• Learns menu items and explains ingredients and preparation methods.
• Maintains a neat, clean station and assists with buffet setups and breakdowns.
• Responds to guest requests and follows cash and guest check procedures.
• Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as needed.
• Completes break duties and ensures proper sanitation throughout service.
