Job summary

The Cooper is seeking a Banquet Chef to lead the kitchen of our luxury hotel banquet operations in Charleston. You will manage culinary personnel, ensure high-quality food preparation, and maintain cost controls for food and labor during events.

Collaborate with Banquet Manager and Sales to plan events, review BEOs, direct staff, and develop menus while upholding standards and safety. Strong English, leadership, and 100+ guest event experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience executing 100+ person events
• 3+ years in luxury catering or banquet high-volume production
• 1–2 years in a managerial role
• Serve Safe certified

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Banquet Manager and Sales to plan and execute functions
• Oversee quality and consistency of banquet food preparation
• Review banquet event orders (BEO) daily
• Brief kitchen staff daily on upcoming functions
• Maintain recipes and costing for banquet dishes
• Plan production and plating with executives
• Control inventory and stock levels
• Ensure recipes follow hotel standards
• Meet budgeted food costs
