Job summary

PCH Hotels And Resorts, Inc. is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise and coordinate banquet staff during events, overseeing set-up, service, and breakdown while ensuring guest needs are met and changes communicated.

You will work with the Banquet Manager and Banquet Chef to arrange staffing, equipment, and food flow. This part-time role at Grand National properties involves supervising up to 30 associates, training backups, and ensuring proper table settings and service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising up to 30 banquet associates.
• Strong communication with guests and meeting planners.
• Ability to coordinate set-up, service and breakdown of events.

Responsibilities

• Consult with the Banquet Manager on event staffing and equipment needs.
• Supervise banquet staff in setup, service, and breakdown with professionalism.
• Maintain clear guest and meeting planner communication for changes.
• Coordinate with the Banquet Chef to ensure smooth flow of dishes.
• Oversee buffet and station setups and check service accuracy.
• Check-in servers, assign stations, and manage function duties.
• Inspect place settings and ensure cleanliness of linens and silverware.
• Direct banquet operations to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
• Extend and total checks accurately and obtain host signatures.
• Train backup personnel for the Banquet Captain role.
• Report gratuities per company guidelines and federal regulations.
• Comply with ABC alcohol service regulations.
