Job summary

Army NAF Fort Benning seeks an experienced banquet supervisor to manage event banquet staff and ensure seamless service during events. You will delegate duties, monitor performance, and support setup and execution of banquets, ensuring adherence to standards.

The role may require acting as event manager on duty, with duties spanning scheduling, labor control and payment postings, and occasional server/cashier/bartender duties as needed. This is a full-time position at Fort Benning.

  • Ensure staff actions meet standards; monitor on/off event floor and report incidents to supervisor.
  • Adhere to SOPs and resort policies; suggest improvements to procedures, services, products, and revenue.
  • May cross-train to assist Convention Services Manager with event set-up and AV technologies.

  • Under the direction of the Hotel Director, Sales, oversees the management and performance of event banquet staff. Responsibilities include delegating duties to staff, set-up and completion of event. At times will serve as event manager on duty.
  • Assist with proper scheduling, labor control, linen control, and payment postings. When required, will function as Server, Food Runner, Cashier, or Bartender as needed. Accountable for event props/materials and management of department equipment.
  • Responsible for the actions of the banquet staff and their performance on and off the event floor. Monitors any inappropriate staff actions or lack of service and takes immediate action to correct; reports incidents to supervisor.
  • Responsible for adhering to departmental Standard Operating Procedures and resort policies. Recommends improvements concerning procedures, services, products, and revenue enhancement.
  • May be cross-trained to assist Convention Services Manager in event set-up and audio-visual technologies. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

  • Position, duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.
  • Work hours may involve weekends, weekdays, holidays and night duty.

  • May be required to satisfactorily complete a food service worker physical in accordance with AR 215-3.
