Job summary

Memphis Marriott East is seeking a Banquet Captain for a full-time flex position in Memphis, TN. You will arrange equipment for guest functions, assist with room setup, and schedule staff for pre-meal assignments, ensuring all requests and BEOs are accurately followed.

The role requires strong communication, high work ethic, and the ability to work under pressure, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will liaise with kitchen staff to ensure quality and presentation of food.

Responsibilities

• Make arrangements for equipment for guest functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to staff arrival for room setup.
• Assist the Banquet staff in room set up and ensure all guest tables, buffet tables and equipment are set up correctly.
• Schedule staff for pre-meal assignments and function stations; inform them of special requests or instructions.
• Inspect food for quality and presentation prior to serving and coordinate with kitchen staff on changes.
