Job summary

LodgeWorks is hiring a part-time Banquet Bartender for Hyatt Place Lehigh Valley – Allentown, PA. You will serve cocktails and beverages, greet guests, and help ensure a welcoming atmosphere during events.

Responsibilities include crafting standard and specialty drinks, maintaining bar stock, handling payments, and keeping the area clean and organized while following safety and alcohol policies. Prior hotel banquet experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in bartending and guest service in hospitality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of MICROS POS system is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, take drink orders, and prepare cocktails to standard recipes.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, stock, and equipment; manage glassware and garnishes.
• Verify guest IDs when applicable and follow alcohol service policies.
• Record transactions, balance receipts, and assist with opening/closing side work.

# Banquet Bartender Part TimeHyatt Place Hyatt House Lehigh Valley - Allentown, PA 18106## Description**Job Overview** Bartenders make a long-lasting impression and greatly influence the total guest experience. Creating a positive environment for guests while they enjoy cocktails, liquor, wine and other beverages and bites is imperative. The primary responsibility of a Bartender is to deliver and exceed guest expectations while serving cocktails, liquor and other guest requests. The bartender is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the bar, memorizing food, cocktail and wine list menus, and completing any other tasks requested by management**.Job Duties*** Observe customers as they enter the bar area and ensure that they are greeted promptly and seated in a timely and friendly manner.* Verify ID and age of guests when necessary.* Know how to make traditional and classic cocktails, as well as specialty cocktails listed on menu.* Check in regularly with every guest to ensure satisfaction with food and drinks.* Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change.* Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.* Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per LodgeWorks standards.* Record and balance receipts properly; close all checks daily.* Complete all opening and closing side work.* Communicate all allergy and dietary restriction information when applicable.* Maintain pre-batched cocktails, liquor inventory, wine inventory and bar supplies.* Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.* Build rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.* Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position, including Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.* Abide by all federal, state and corporate food and alcohol laws and policies.* Maintain stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.* Immediately report any equipment or bar maintenance problems to the Manager.* Ensure that tips are properly reported for tax purposes.* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including counters, sinks, utensils, glassware, shelves and storage.* Assist in any other tasks as requested by management.## Qualifications* A team player with a heart for hospitality.* An excellent communicator.* Customer-focused, with guests, clients and employees at the forefront of your thinking.* Adapt to change quickly.* Comfortable following directions, guidelines and work objectives.* Capable of exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally.* Capable of standing for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time.* Capable of reaching overhead, utilizing both hands, leaning over, stooping and kneeling.* Experienced in using MICROS POS* At least 1 year of previous bartending experience.
