Job summary

GLE Operations LLC in Napa, CA, is seeking a bartender for a luxury hospitality property. You will greet guests, mix and present drinks, stock the bar, and maintain sanitation while ensuring portion control and guest satisfaction.

Required are prior bartending experience, a Food Handler's Card, RBS training, and ability to work a flexible weekend schedule. A high school diploma or equivalent is expected, with strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical and computer skills to operate cash register, make change, total checks, and manage cash drops.
• Basic English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers.
• Manual dexterity for garnishes, glassware, and stock.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Knowledge of menu items and ability to upsell drinks.
• Operate keyboard and POS to pre-check orders and close checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bar setup daily, stock beverages, garnishes, and perishables.
• Greet guests, take and promote drink orders, mix and present drinks.
• Attend monthly departmental meetings and follow teamwork policies.
• Lock up and store beverages and equipment, deposit cash drops.
• Complete required safety and sanitation procedures in the bar area.

Key Responsibilities

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their teammates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

• Maintains proper and adequate set‑up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.
• Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
• Attends monthly departmental meetings.
• Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you Go" policies.
• Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures banks.
• All Bartenders must successfully complete T.I.P.S. Training.
• Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area.
• Read and understand all particulars of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.
• After function, remove inventory and all beverage equipment to proper storage.
• Retrieve and store bar glassware to proper storage.
• Work effectively and efficiently with the banquet team.
• Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Banquet Captain.
• Respond to the Banquet Captain’s instructions and directions.
• Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co‑workers and management.

The starting range for this position is $30.00 an hour. This is the pay rate for this position that Stanly Ranch reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Required Qualifications

• Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
• Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre‑check an order and close out a check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Prior bartending experience.
• Current Food Handler's Card.
• RBS Training Required.
• Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol.
• One year experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry as a Bartender preferred.
• Good knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine. Experience at a luxury hospitality property preferred.
• Superior professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast‑paced team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
• Must be available to work weekends; Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
