Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort is seeking a Bartender II to greet guests, mix and serve drinks, and handle payments at the hotel bar and cart service. You will ensure quick, friendly service while maintaining bar cleanliness and order, and assist with garnishes and light food orders.

The role requires at least three years of related experience, ability to read and write, and compliance with liquor laws; Blue Card or TB clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years related work experience.
• Able to read and write to do job duties.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly.
• County Liquor Commission Blue Card preferred, or acquired within 30 days after hire.
• Department of Health TB Clearance

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in a timely manner.
• Present checks and process payments; make charges to credit card or room account.
• Accept cash payment; maintain a cash bank and follow cash handling procedures.
• Keep bar and surrounding area clean and orderly.
• Proper garnishes preparation; assist with appetizers offered at the bar.
• Open bar and secure bar and contents at end of shift.
• Enter all sales into the resort POS system; follow procedures.
• Follow liquor laws and hotel policies in service.
• Maintain bar inventory and complete reports for shifts.
