Job summary

Civana Wellness Resort & Spa in Carefree, AZ is seeking a friendly, service-oriented bartender/banquet beverage server for a part-time role. You will warmly greet guests, prepare and serve beverages, and support event service with a focus on quality and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years bartending and 2–3 years serving experience, a strong hospitality mindset, and the ability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as needed. Title 4 and a food handlers card preferred.

• Two to three years bartending experience preferred.
• Two to three years of serving experience required.
• Title 4 preferred and food handlers card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure opening checklist is completed and bars are set up for event openings.
• Observe customers as they sit down at the events and ensure they are greeted promptly and seated in a friendly manner.
• Make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Upsell drink specials as directed by management.
• Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the banquet standard drink recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety codes and policies.

IDEAL CANDIDATES

Must have availability to work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Essential Functions:

• 1. Assure opening checklist is completed and making sure bars are set up for event openings.
• 2. Observe customers as they sit down at the events and assure they are greeted promptly and properly and seated in a friendly manner.
• 3. Make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
• 4. Up sell drink specials as directed by management.
• 5. Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
• 6. Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service.
• 7. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests or problems.
• 8. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth operation of bars and patio areas.
• 9. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the banquet standard drink recipes.
• 10. Learn names of patrons and personally recognize regulars.
• 11. Wash, sterilize, and polish glassware.
• 13. Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
• 14. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
• 15. Receive and serve food orders to guests.
• 16. Report any observed guest issues to Manager.
• 17. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Manager.
• 18. Must attend and participate in pre-shift meetings.
• 19. Ensure compliance with health and safety codes and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two to three years bartending experience preferred. Two to three years of serving experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
