Job summary

Cape Resorts Group is seeking a Banquet Bar Server to provide beverage service for banquet guests. You will perform opening side work, stock bar supplies, and ensure smooth function setup and teardown. Maintain safety, follow cash-handling policies, and support Captains to run events efficiently.

The role requires high-volume bar experience, strong communication, and adherence to health standards. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as needed.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required.
• One year of high-volume bar experience preferred.
• Must be 21+ and able to serve alcohol where required.
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve banquet bar beverages to guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner.
• Perform opening side work and gather bar supplies to set up banquet bars.
• Return equipment and supplies to proper locations after functions.
• Ensure safety by transporting equipment properly and managing spills or breakage.
• Assist Banquet Captains to ensure smooth function operations.

Position Overview: Responsible for the service of banquet bar beverages to banquet guests as required by the banquet event order.These duties may be described as, but not limited to:Serve banquet bar beverages to banquet guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.Complete all opening side work, including gathering all necessary bar supplies, garnishes, spirits and bar utensils to properly set up banquet bar according to hotel banquet bar standards.At conclusion of function, ensure all equipment and supplies are returned to their proper location in a clean and orderly fashion.Ensure safety of all walkways by transporting all equipment in the proper manner. Be responsible in the handling of all equipment and linens. Ensure that all spills and breakage are attended to immediately.Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits.Support Banquet Captains to ensure all functions run smoothly from start to finish.Work with function service agents to ensure functions are set correctly.Recommend proper maintenance and repair to banquet management and ensure the proper housekeeping of all function space.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Good communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards.Strong knowledge of beverage brands and recipes as determined by banquet management.Understanding of types of bars (open, cash, consumption)Strong knowledge and adherence to cash-handling and tip-out policies.Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds frequently.Minimum Qualifications:High school or equivalent education required.One year high volume bar experience required. Customer service experience preferred.Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Congress Hall standards.
