Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is hiring for a Bankruptcy Ledger Specialist to complete and monitor ledgers through the bankruptcy process on residential mortgage loans. You will ensure accuracy, adhere to investor timelines and company policies, and help preserve the lien-holder’s interests.

Responsibilities include researching borrower payment histories, resolving posting discrepancies, handling bankruptcy documents, and coordinating with attorneys, departments, and IT to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Strong math skills for manual calculations (e.g., Motions for Relief, Proof of Claim).
• Ability to manage work to meet strict deadlines.
• Experience balancing ledgers; accounting background helpful.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong drive to accomplish goals with urgency.
• Ability to multitask under pressure; teamwork focused.
• Self-motivation with limited supervision.
• Thorough understanding of the bankruptcy process.

Responsibilities

• Execute and complete ledgers for Bankruptcy processes with high accuracy.
• Verify borrower payment histories and resolve posting discrepancies.
• Respond to inquiries from bankruptcy attorneys and other parties.
• Remediate files by researching Fiserv/Sagent data and servicer information.
• Process bankruptcy documents and create required filings.
• Audit and complete setup of bankruptcy filings and notices for accuracy.
• Prepare and manage various bankruptcy documents and notices.
• Coordinate with management on projects and IT-related BK processes.
• Identify process gaps and propose approved improvements.
• May have signing authority for bankruptcy documents.
