Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active Virginia Bar Membership in good standing is required.
  • Three (3+) years of Bankruptcy experience preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to Chapter 7, 11, 13, and plan confirmation preferred.
  • Comfort with high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to attend hearings and other court appearances.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a statewide, high-volume bankruptcy caseload from start to finish.
  • Prepare and file motions, pleadings, Proofs of Claim, Payment Change Notices, and other key documents.
  • Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and draft objections to plans when necessary.
  • Attend virtual and in-person court hearings.
  • Liaise between the firm, clients, courts, trustees, and outside counsel.
  • Handle time-sensitive escalations.
  • Keep client systems accurately updated.

  • Successful completion of required pre-employment, criminal and/or credit history, and reference checks as applicable
