Job summary

Jobtailor in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced bankruptcy attorney to manage a statewide, high-volume caseload from start to finish. You will prepare and file motions, pleadings, proofs of claim, and payment-change notices, and conduct Chapter 13 plan reviews with attention to detail.

You will attend virtual and in-person hearings, liaise with clients, courts, trustees, and outside counsel, and uphold ethical standards while handling time-sensitive escalations and confidential information.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Virginia Bar Membership in good standing.
• Three (3+) years of bankruptcy experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 13, and plan confirmation preferred.
• Comfort with high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed to attend hearings and other court appearances.
• Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality.
• Pre-employment screening required.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Criminal and/or credit history checks and reference checks may be required.
• Bonus: experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation; knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, or TILA; or a background in foreclosure law.
