Job summary

Carter Bank in Lexington, VA is seeking a Financial Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling everyday transactions and guiding clients through basic banking needs with a proactive, personalized approach.

You will build relationships, refer customers to partners, and support branch operations while meeting sales goals and adhering to all compliance rules. Prior cash handling or retail banking experience is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required
• Previous experience in a retail bank or related industry preferred
• Prior cash handling experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides a range of customer services including transaction processing, customer and account servicing, opening new accounts and products
• Delivers exceptional customer experience through customer interactions and proactive engagement
• Identifies customer needs and generates high-quality referrals to branch associates and partners
• Resolves basic account/customer issues and escalates unresolved ones
• Supports branch operations by adhering to policies and procedures and compliance rules
• Participates in the bank's strategic plan to grow retail banking
• Meets or exceeds sales goals through targeted activities
• Owns career development through training and coaching
• Attends bank events to grow customer base
