Job summary

Carter Bank in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a Financial Services Representative to be the first point of contact for customers and guide them through their banking needs with proactive service.

The role handles day-to-day transactions, educates on self-service options, and routes customers to appropriate next steps while building lasting relationships to improve their financial well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required.
• Previous experience in a retail bank or related industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of customer services including transaction processing, account servicing, opening new accounts and referrals.
• Deliver exceptional customer experience through every customer interaction by engaging customers to build relationships and addressing needs.
• Identify customer needs and generate referrals to branch associates and partners.
• Resolve basic issues using bank resources and escalate unresolved ones with clear, timely solutions.
• Adhere to processes and comply with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations for daily work.
• Support the bank's strategic plan to grow the retail bank’s business.
• Meet or exceed sales goals through targeted activities and needs-based selling.
• Pursue career development through training, coaching and self-improvement opportunities.
• Attend bank events to enhance visibility and acquisition of new customers.
