Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Consumer Services Specialist to handle inbound customer service calls, access banking systems, answer questions, resolve problems and cross-sell suitable products. The role emphasizes delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma, strong English, 1–2 years of customer service, and ability to navigate multiple computer systems while maintaining privacy standards. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in the English language
• 1-2 years customer service or similar work experience
• Knowledge of basic banking products (checking, debit, credit card)
• Ability to interact with multiple computer systems to access client information.
• Basic understanding of privacy regulations and authenticating customers prior to discussing account information.
• Demonstrates ability to learn and pass assessments/training certificates.
• Demonstrates pleasant phone and interaction skills with customers.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound service center calls to deliver the Unparalleled Customer Experience and build relationships with UMB customers.
• Access multiple banking systems over the phone to answer questions, provide information and resolve problems.
• Cross-sell appropriate products when suitable during customer interactions.
• Participate in ongoing training and self-paced learning; stay updated with department communications.
• Performance assessed by call quality, talk time, cross-sale success, and competency demonstrations with monthly incentives.
