Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a customer service representative to provide exceptional banking experiences in our Illinois locations. The role focuses on accurate cash handling, friendly client interactions, and ongoing compliance with bank policies.

You will assist customers with transactions, open and modify accounts, and look for ways to improve processes. A background in sales is preferred, with opportunities for growth and participation in Total Rewards benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience in a financial setting.
• Previous sales experience is preferred.
• Successfully completes required compliance and training to be proficient in basic account opening.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality service experience by ensuring timely resolution to customer needs and overall satisfaction.
• Greet customers and make them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust.
• Service customers by processing transactions with accuracy and efficiency within policy guidelines.
• Seek manager assistance for suspicious transactions.
• Obtain management approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
• Adhere to all bank compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures.
• Maintain a cash drawer by daily balancing and assist with branch duties.
• Open accounts including checking, savings, or basic business accounts.
• Process changes to existing accounts as requested by customers.
• Identify and communicate process improvements to branch management.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct as per Employee Handbook.
• Protect customer confidentiality and privacy.
• Participate in bank promotions and community events as applicable.
• May work at other First Mid Banking centers as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
