Job description

Position Overview:

Heritage Bank is seeking a Bank Teller at our Oak Harbor Branch to provide exceptional customer service, handle routine financial transactions, and support branch sales efforts through referrals. This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with flexibility required for training and coverage.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary ranges are based on experience and role level:

• Level I: $19.00 - $20.59 - $22.88/hour
• Level II: $20.00 - $21.62 - $24.84/hour

Our total rewards package includes competitive base salary, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), community volunteer time, and generous paid time off (minimum 10 vacation days, 8 sick days, 11 holidays, and an annual float day). Benefits are pro-rated based on start date and hours worked.

Travel Requirements:

This branch is a designated travel team location, supporting primarily Island and Skagit counties, with potential travel to other surrounding areas.

Requirements:

• Level I: 6 months customer service experience
• Level II: 1 year cash handling and customer service experience in financial services
• Knowledge of bank activities, compliance with banking laws and policies
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Math skills and understanding of banking transactions
• Effective communication skills in English
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation or alternative access

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Climate-controlled office environment
• Regular attendance and punctuality required
• Potential exposure to security risks, with safety instructions provided
• Prolonged computer use, standing, sitting, and occasional physical activity including lifting 25-50 lbs.
