Excellence Award.Job SummaryThe Band Instrument Repair Technician is responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and repairing band instruments for our rental fleet, customers, and school partners. This position requires strong technical repair skills, attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing quality workmanship.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on company-owned rental instruments.Evaluate and repair customer- and school-owned band instruments.Diagnose instrument issues and determine appropriate repairs.Complete repairs accurately, efficiently, and according to established quality standards.Maintain repair tools, equipment, parts, and workspace in a clean and organized manner.Communicate effectively with team members regarding repair needs, priorities, and workflow.Support the repair department during periods of high volume and changing priorities.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Skills & AbilitiesTechnical Repair Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing band instruments. Able to complete quality repairs independently and efficiently.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality repair work.Organization & Time Management: Able to prioritize workload, manage multiple repairs, and complete work within expected timelines in a fast-paced environment.Teamwork: Works collaboratively with others and contributes positively to a team environment.Customer Focus: Understands the importance of providing quality service and ensuring instruments are repaired to meet the needs of students, educators, musicians, and customers.Communication: Able to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with coworkers, managers, and customers as needed.Initiative & Adaptability: Able to identify issues, problem-solve, adjust to changing priorities, and take appropriate action without requiring constant direction.Continued Learning: Demonstrates a willingness to continue developing repair skills and knowledge of instruments, repair techniques, tools, products, and parts.Technology: Basic computer skills and ability to learn company systems used to track repairs and workflow.Education & ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of professional experience repairing band instruments required.Completion of a recognized band instrument repair technician program or repair school preferred, but not required.Must successfully complete a bench test demonstrating proficiency and competency in band instrument repair.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods while performing repair work.Ability to sit, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with instrument repair.Ability to safely use hand tools, repair equipment, and machinery associated with the position.Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
