Job summary

Sweetwater, the #1 online retailer of pro-audio and musical instruments, is seeking a Band Instrument Repair Technician for our Band & Orchestra team. You will identify problems and complete rental refurbishments on the five main rental instrument types, test them at a student level, and perform repairs with high-quality workmanship.

You will interact with Service Orders and update Service Order locations, contributing to a smooth repair workflow and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair procedures and play testing band instruments.
• Ability to play test multiple instruments at a high school or college level.
• 1 year of a band repair training course or equivalent training experience.
• Diploma from an accredited repair school or instrument training program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Repair flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, and trombones in our rental inventory.
• Follow proper inventory control procedures and interact with 4D software.
• Assist with training inspection team members or rental operations team members.
• Maintenance and cleaning of rental mouthpieces and other components.
• Play test instruments to identify issues before and after repair.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair procedures and techniques and play testing band instruments
• Ability to play test multiple instruments at a high school or college level
• 1 year of a band repair training course or equivalent training experience
• Diploma from an accredited repair school or instrument training program or equivalent
• apprenticeship training in instrument repair from an experienced technician or a reputable music
• company
• Degree in Music Education or Music Performance preferred
