Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Baler Operator to safely run the baler, perform cleanup, and suggest improvements to operations. The role reports to the Waste Champion and requires attention to safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities include producing neat bales, operating hogger, maintaining bale reports and inventory of baling materials; forklift operation as needed; and following all company policies. High school diploma or GED preferred; forklift experience in corrugated industry preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• Experience operating a forklift preferred.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and follow factory instructions.

Responsibilities

• Make good, neat bales.
• Operate hogger and hog up all unusable paper and corrugated scrap.
• Maintain accurate bale reports.
• Maintain inventories of baling wire, wax and no wax tags, and scrap bales.
• Operate a forklift safely when necessary.
• Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs.
• Follow safety policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.
